Description

The Milesight UG65 is a robust 8-channel semi-industrial LoRaWAN gateway for high-performance indoor and sheltered-outdoor IoT. Built on the Semtech SX1302 LoRa chip and a quad-core 64-bit CPU, it handles 2,000+ end nodes with line-of-sight reach up to 15 km (about 2 km in dense urban areas), all inside an IP65-rated enclosure.

Crucially for smart buildings, the UG65 is a Building Management System (BMS) bridge — its embedded network server feeds LoRaWAN sensor data straight into BACnet/IP and Modbus systems. It ships in two backhaul models: Ethernet/Wi-Fi, and Ethernet/Wi-Fi/4G for sites that need cellular failover.

Building Management System (BMS) Integration

The UG65 is designed to drop LoRaWAN data into existing building infrastructure with no rip-and-replace. It exposes BACnet/IP, BACnet/SC, Modbus TCP, and Modbus RTU over TCP, alongside MQTT(s) and HTTP(s) APIs — so wireless sensors become first-class points in your BMS or PLC.

BACnet over LoRaWAN: LoRaWAN acts purely as the data channel — no changes to your BACnet protocol, network, or devices. A virtual BACnet server makes LoRaWAN sensors appear as native BACnet objects in your management system. A free Milesight BACnet driver is available.
Modbus to BMS/PLC: The gateway integrates LoRaWAN readings into Modbus systems for real-time monitoring in a BMS or PLC, without altering existing infrastructure.
