The RAKWireless RAK7289 WisGate Edge Pro is a premier industrial outdoor LoRaWAN® gateway built for large-scale, professional IoT deployments. Powered by the Semtech SX1303 LoRa core and available in 8- or 16-channel versions (dual concentrators on the 16-channel model), it delivers reliable long-range coverage in the harshest environments — all in a rugged IP67/NEMA-6 enclosure.

With integrated internal antennas for Wi-Fi, GPS, and cellular, and multi-backhaul over Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and optional LTE, the WisGate Edge Pro keeps your network connected anywhere. It runs WisGateOS 2 with a built-in LoRaWAN network server and remote fleet management via WisDM, making it equally suited to standalone private networks and large managed deployments.

Core Capabilities

8 or 16 Channels (SX1303) Choose the 8-channel model or the 16-channel version with dual LoRa concentrators for higher capacity. Both are powered by the Semtech SX1303 core for dependable long-range performance.
Multi-Backhaul Connectivity Connect over Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or an optional LTE Cat-4 module (EG95-E) for the EMEA region. Internal antennas for Wi-Fi, GPS, and cellular keep installs clean — only the LoRa antenna mounts externally.
Industrial IP67 Build IP67/NEMA-6 enclosure with cable glands, 802.3af PoE plus surge protection, and built-in GPS. A “dying gasp” alert and optional Battery Plus kit support off-grid and solar-backed sites.
WisGateOS 2 & Built-In LNS A built-in LoRaWAN network server (1.0.3), Basics Station and Packet Forwarder modes, frame filtering, frame buffering on NS outage, fine timestamping, and MQTT v3.1 bridging with TLS.

All variants are EU868. The CV2 cellular models use a Quectel EG95-E LTE Cat-4 module (EMEA). The 8-channel needs one LoRa antenna; the 16-channel needs two.

Power: 12 V DC or 802.3af PoE (do not connect solar directly — overvoltage risk); optional Battery Plus for off-grid/solar.
Edge features: Frame filtering, frame buffering on NS outage, optional LBT, fine timestamping, MQTT v3.1 + TLS.
Management: WisGateOS 2 with extension add-ons and remote management via WisDM.

What's the difference between RAK7289V2 and RAK7289CV2?

RAK7289V2 has no cellular; RAK7289CV2 adds an LTE Cat-4 module (EG95-E) for cellular backhaul where wired or Wi-Fi isn't available.

Should I choose 8 or 16 channels?

8 channels suit most deployments; choose 16 channels (dual concentrators) for high device density or busy RF environments where you need extra capacity.
