The Seeed Studio SenseCAP S2105 is a battery-powered wireless LoRaWAN® soil sensor that simultaneously measures soil moisture (volumetric water content), soil temperature, and electrical conductivity (EC) using FDR sensing — the essentials for precision irrigation and crop health.
Soil EC indicates salinity and influences nutrient availability and microbial activity, so the S2105 gives a fuller picture than moisture alone. With up to 10-year battery life, an IP66 enclosure rated −40 °C to +85 °C, and 2–10 km LoRaWAN range, it's built for harsh outdoor agriculture — and sets up in minutes via Bluetooth, no tools or wiring required.

What does the S2105 measure, and why does EC matter?
Soil moisture (0–100% VWC), temperature (−40 to +80 °C), and electrical conductivity (0–23 dS/m). EC reflects soil salinity, which affects nutrient availability, microbial activity, and crop yield — so you manage fertigation and salt build-up, not just water.
Does it need a LoRaWAN gateway?
Yes. It transmits over LoRaWAN to a gateway and network server (The Things Stack, ChirpStack, or a Milesight/SenseCAP gateway). A gateway is sold separately.
Which frequency plan does it use?
A single device supports 7 plans (EU868, US915, AU915, AS923, KR920, IN865, RU864). It ships unset and is configured on first power-up via Bluetooth — and can be switched at any time.
How long does the battery last, and is it replaceable?
Up to 10 years on a replaceable D-size ER34615 Li-SOCl₂ battery (19 Ah). Actual life depends on reporting interval, payload, and distance to the gateway.
How is it configured?
No-code setup in four steps via Bluetooth using the free SenseCAP Mate app — no programming required.
Is it suitable for outdoor / harsh conditions?
