The RAKwireless RAK7268V2 / RAK7268CV2 WisGate Edge Lite 2 is a compact, professional-grade 8-channel indoor LoRaWAN® gateway designed for versatile deployments across commercial buildings, campuses, and industrial facilities. Built on the SX1302 Mini PCIe LoRa concentrator and powered by an MT7628 processor with 128 MB DDR2 RAM, it runs on WisGateOS 2 — a robust, security-enhanced platform supporting extensions, remote OTA updates, and fleet management via WisDM. The gateway supports multiple backhaul options including Ethernet (PoE), 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and optional 4G LTE (RAK7268CV2 only), with flexible power input via PoE, 12 VDC, or 9–24 VDC depending on variant. A pre-installed 16 GB microSD card provides frame buffering and log storage, ensuring no data loss during network outages. Configuration is accessible via Wi-Fi AP mode out of the box, with support for Web UI, SSH2, and remote management through WisDM.

Core Capabilities

Multi-Backhaul with Failover Supports simultaneous Ethernet (PoE), 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and optional 4G LTE (RAK7268CV2) backhaul connections with automatic uplink failover, ensuring continuous network availability across all deployment environments.

WisGateOS 2 & WisDM Fleet Management Runs WisGateOS 2 with extension add-on support for customised functionality, built-in network server, Basics Station and Packet Forwarder modes, and MQTT v3.1 bridging with TLS encryption. Integrates with WisDM for centralised remote management, OTA firmware updates, and monitoring of large gateway fleets.

Frame Buffering & Data Resilience Pre-installed 16 GB microSD card provides LoRa frame buffering in Packet Forwarder mode during network server outages, ensuring no uplink packets are lost. Supports LoRa frame filtering (node whitelisting) for clean, controlled deployments.

Global Frequency & Flexible Power Supports EU868, US915, AU915, AS923, IN865, KR920, RU864, EU433, and CN470 frequency plans. Accepts PoE (IEEE 802.3af, 36–57 VDC), 12 VDC, or 9–24 VDC power input depending on variant, with 3 W typical power consumption for energy-efficient indoor operation.

The WisGate Edge Lite 2 is available in multiple configurations: RAK7268V2 (non-LTE, 12 VDC or 9–24 VDC) and RAK7268CV2 (with LTE Cat 4, internal or external antennas, 12 VDC).
