The Milesight GS601 is a professional LoRaWAN® vape and smoke detector that identifies vaping and smoking events in real time and triggers both local and remote alerts — with no camera or microphone, so it protects privacy in sensitive spaces like restrooms.
A suite of embedded sensors simultaneously measures vape index, temperature, humidity, TVOC, PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10, while built-in anti-water-vapour filtering suppresses false alarms from shower steam and other gas interference. When thresholds are exceeded, the GS601 sounds a 70 dB buzzer and LED alarm on-site and reports remotely over LoRaWAN®. A vibration sensor flags tampering, and NFC tap configuration enables tool-free setup. Designed for ceiling installation in schools, hotels, public buildings, and rental properties.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the GS601 record audio or video?
No. The GS601 has no camera or microphone — it detects air-quality and vaping parameters only, so it protects privacy in restrooms and changing areas.
What does it detect?
Vape index, smoke, TVOC, temperature, humidity, and particulate matter (PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10), plus tampering and burning conditions.
Will shower steam cause false alarms?
No. Built-in anti-water-vapour filtering suppresses false alarms from steam and other gas interference, and reports interference status separately.
Does it need a LoRaWAN gateway?
Yes. The GS601 reports over LoRaWAN® (Class C) and works with standard gateways and network servers (e.g. The Things Network, ChirpStack) and Milesight UG65/UG67. A gateway is sold separately.
How is it powered?
Via the included USB Type-C power adapter (5V/1A), or optionally through a PoE splitter where Ethernet is available.
Where should it be installed?
On the ceiling at 2.4–3 m height in areas where smoking may occur, ideally 30–70 cm from exhaust fans and away from doors, windows, and air vents. Plan roughly a 1.5 m detection radius per device.
