Solution Overview

The Smart Agriculture IoT Solution empowers farmers and agronomists to make data-driven decisions for improved crop yield and efficient water management.
This end-to-end system integrates solar-powered outdoor gateways with multi-parameter soil sensors that measure key soil indicators — including moisture, temperature, electrical conductivity (EC).
Using LoRaWAN connectivity, all sensor data is securely transmitted to our IoT platform and mobile application for real-time visualization, analysis, and alerting.

System Architecture

The Smart Agriculture solution combines reliable hardware, robust connectivity, and intelligent software into one integrated ecosystem:

  • Connectivity: Wireless data transmission via LoRaWAN.
  • Gateway: Outdoor solar-powered gateway enabling continuous operation in remote agricultural areas.
  • Software: Web-based IoT platform and mobile app for monitoring, analytics, and alarm notifications.

How it Works

  • Wireless sensors continuously measure soil temperature, humidity and EC.
  • Data is transmitted via LoRaWAN to the gateway and from there through internet to the cloud.
  • The IoT platform stores and analyzes the data, displaying it in easy-to-read dashboards.
  • When thresholds are exceeded, the system instantly sends alerts via SMS or push notification.
  • Users can access live and historical data anytime from the web platform or mobile app.

What is required to be provided by the customer/Considerations

  • The customer needs to install the gateway at a location where the gateway will be in line-of-sight with all the soil sensors. The gateway includes a battery and a PV panel so it is fully autonomous (no power supply is required)
  • The customer needs to install the soil sensors
  • The provided LoRaWAN Gateway provides wireless LoRaWAN coverage at a radius of more than 2km considering that the connected devices are within line-of-sight without any obstacles between then (mountains, buildings etc.). If all the sensors are deployed within this area 1 LoRaWAN gateway will be most probably adequate. If larger wireless LoRaWAN coverage is required more LoRaWAN gateways must be installed.

  • Pre-configuration of the system. The customer receives the system pre-configured and programmed. The customer needs to install the sensors at the measurement locations and provide electricity and internet connection to the LoRaWAN Gateway
  • LoRaWAN connectivity for all the sensors
  • Remote monitoring and support of the system operation by our technical team
  • Measurement transmission every 10 minutes from all the sensors
  • Storage of all the collected data on our platform for a period of 6 months
  • Access to the platform and mobile application for up to 5 users
  • Option to the customer to define/change at any time the operation thresholds of any sensor from the platform and the mobile application
  • Alert if the LoRaWAN gateway goes offline
  • Alert of any sensor failed to transmit a measurement for 24 hours
  • 500 Push Notifications and 200 SMS per year

Return Criteria

  • Pristine Condition: Items must be in the same condition as received—unworn, unused, with original tags.
  • Original Packaging: Hardware must be returned in all original manufacturer packaging.
