The Seeed Studio SenseCAP S700-C is a professional-grade 7-in-1 compact weather station measuring air temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, global solar radiation (with sunshine duration), rain intensity, wind speed, and wind direction — a complete micro-climate picture from one rugged unit.
It pairs a pyranometer, a radar rain gauge, and an ultrasonic wind sensor (no moving parts) with a built-in heater and an IP66 enclosure rated −40 °C to +85 °C — purpose-built for harsh outdoor, agriculture, and smart-city deployments. Data is delivered over RS485 (Modbus-RTU), SDI-12, and ASCII.

What does the S700-C measure?
Air temperature (±0.1 °C), humidity (±1.5% RH), barometric pressure (±50 Pa), global solar radiation (0–2000 W/m²) and sunshine duration, radar rain intensity (0–300 mm/h), and ultrasonic wind speed (0–60 m/s) and direction (±3°).
Can it operate in snow and freezing conditions?
Yes. It's rated −40 °C to +85 °C and has a built-in heater (24 V, 21 W when heating) to keep the sensors clear of snow and ice in cold climates.
Does it have moving parts?
No. Wind is measured ultrasonically and rain by radar — no spinning cups, vanes, or tipping buckets — minimising wear and maintenance.
How do I get the data to the cloud?
It outputs RS485 (Modbus-RTU), SDI-12, and ASCII via an M12 connector. Pair it with a SenseCAP S2100 LoRaWAN data logger or a SenseCAP 4G data logger, or connect to any Modbus/SDI-12 controller or PLC.
How is the S700-C different from the other S700 models?
The "-C" version combines both the pyranometer (solar radiation) and the radar rain gauge. S700-A adds radar rain, S700-B adds solar radiation, and the base S700 has neither.
How is it powered and mounted?
Powered by 12–24 V DC over the M12 cable (typically via the data logger), drawing 0.6 W (21 W when heating). It mounts on a pole or cross-arm and is IP66-rated for permanent outdoor use.
