The Dragino WSS-08 is a professional-grade optical rain gauge designed to provide highly accurate precipitation data for smart agriculture and environmental research. Unlike traditional mechanical tipping buckets, the WSS-08 uses optical sensing to eliminate errors caused by mechanical wear or clogging from debris. This sensor converts rainfall into digital pulses, where each pulse represents 0.1mm of precipitation, ensuring precise data even during light rain events.

The WSS-08 is designed to integrate seamlessly with the Dragino WSC2 Series main process unit. It provides a standard pulse signal that can be transmitted over LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, or LTE-M networks to professional IoT platforms such as ThingsEye.io. For large-scale weather station layouts requiring multiple sensors, it can be combined with other WSS-series probes using the DR-F6C-4M adapter cable.
