Description

The Milesight AM304L is a battery-powered LoRaWAN® 4-in-1 indoor sensor that simultaneously monitors temperature, relative humidity, ambient light, and PIR occupancy. Part of the Milesight AM300 series, it is built for smart offices, classrooms, healthcare facilities, and commercial buildings where accurate environmental and occupancy data drives comfort, energy savings, and space optimisation.

Powered by four pre-installed ER14505 Li-SOCl₂ batteries for up to 7 years of maintenance-free operation, the AM304L is configured entirely tool-free via NFC tap (or USB-C with PC software) and integrates natively with Milesight IoT Cloud and the Milesight Development Platform, plus third-party Building Management Systems via open API and Webhooks.

Core Capabilities

Up to 7-Year Battery Life Four pre-installed 2700 mAh ER14505 Li-SOCl₂ replaceable batteries deliver up to 7 years of operation (SF7/EU868, 10-minute interval, 25°C). A USB Type-C port provides an optional 5V/1A wired power alternative for permanent installations.
High-Accuracy MEMS Sensing Temperature accuracy of ±0.2°C and humidity accuracy of ±2% RH via Digital CMOSens® MEMS technology, with 0.1°C and 0.5% RH resolution. An insulation design minimises heat from onboard electronics to preserve measurement integrity.
Light & PIR Occupancy Detection A photodiode reports ambient light across 6 levels (0–60,000 Lux), while the passive-infrared sensor (80° horizontal / 55° vertical, up to 5 m) reports occupied/vacant status — feeding HVAC control, lighting automation, and space-utilisation analytics.
Tool-Free NFC Setup & Data Integrity Configure in seconds via NFC tap with the Milesight ToolBox app, or via USB-C with the PC software. On-device historical storage with data retransmission guarantees full delivery to the server during network interruptions.

Technical Integration

The AM304L operates on LoRaWAN® Class A with OTAA or ABP join modes across CN470, EU868, US915, AU915, AS923, KR920, IN865, and RU864 bands. It integrates natively with Milesight IoT Cloud and the Milesight Development Platform for bulk device management, OTA firmware updates, and open API / Webhook connectivity to third-party BMS and smart-building platforms, and is compatible with Milesight LoRaWAN® gateways (UG65, UG67, UG56, SG50) and standard network servers including The Things Network, ChirpStack, and AWS IoT Core. What does the AM304L measure?

Temperature, relative humidity, ambient light (6 levels, 0–60,000 Lux), and PIR occupancy (occupied/vacant). Note: the AM304L does not measure CO₂, TVOC, or particulate matter — those are available on higher AM300 models (AM307/AM308/AM319).

How long does the battery last, and how is it powered?

Up to 7 years on four pre-installed 2700 mAh ER14505 Li-SOCl₂ batteries (SF7/EU868, 10-min interval). A USB Type-C port offers optional 5V/1A wired power; note the Type-C port does not charge the batteries.

Does it have a display or buzzer?

No. The AM304L has no E-ink screen or buzzer — those features are available on the AM307, AM308, and AM319 models.

Does it need a LoRaWAN gateway?

Yes. The AM304L is LoRaWAN® Class A and works with standard gateways and network servers (e.g. The Things Network, ChirpStack) plus Milesight UG65/UG67. A gateway is sold separately.

How is it configured?

Tool-free via NFC tap using the Milesight ToolBox mobile app, or via USB-C using the Milesight ToolBox PC software.

Where should it be installed?

On a wall or flat surface at least 1.5 m above the floor, with a clear path for the PIR and light sensors, away from windows, vents, and heat/cold sources, and not upside down.
