Description

The Milesight SG50 is an ultra-low-power solar-powered LoRaWAN gateway built to remove the power and connectivity barriers of remote, off-grid sites. Built on the Semtech SX1302 chip with built-in rechargeable batteries and an included solar panel, it runs entirely without mains power inside a rugged IP67 cast-aluminium enclosure.

With 4G cellular backhaul, built-in GPS, and consumption of just 0.8 W typical, the SG50 keeps a LoRaWAN network online for up to 4 days without sunlight — ideal for oil & gas, mining, forestry, agriculture, and remote industrial monitoring. It's offered with a 30 W or 45 W solar panel to match your site's sunlight conditions.

Core Capabilities

Solar + Battery Off-Grid Power Built-in 3.6 V 25,000 mAh battery pack and an included monocrystalline solar panel (30 W or 45 W) deliver up to 4 days of operation without sunlight at just 0.8 W typical. Optional DC 12–24 V or USB-C powering for setup.
8-Channel SX1302 LoRaWAN 8 half-duplex channels with −140 dBm sensitivity and 27 dBm Tx power. Relays around 2,000 nodes to a mainstream network server (The Things Stack, ChirpStack), with a built-in network server for up to 100 devices, LBT, and packet filtering.
4G Backhaul + Built-In GPS Independent 4G LTE Cat 1 / GSM cellular backhaul (Nano SIM, 4FF) needs no wired internet, while built-in GPS supports location and remote management. Wi-Fi (AP mode) is used for on-site configuration.
Rugged IP67 for Remote Sites Cast-aluminium IP67 enclosure withstands harsh outdoor environments from −30 °C to +70 °C. All-in-one design with wall or pole mounting and standard accessories enables fast field deployment.

Backhaul & positioning: 4G LTE Cat 1 / GSM cellular backhaul (Nano SIM, 4FF) — no wired internet needed — plus built-in GPS. Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n, AP mode) is for on-site configuration only.
Integration & protocols: MQTT and HTTP(s) only (no BACnet or Modbus). In packet-forwarder mode it relays to The Things Stack or ChirpStack; the built-in network server suits standalone sites of up to 100 devices.
Management: Configured via Web, MQTT API, or the Milesight DeviceHub / Development Platform, with an OpenVPN client.
Power: Included 30 W or 45 W solar panel, or DC 12–24 V via an M12 connector, with a built-in 25,000 mAh battery (up to 4 days without sun at ~0.8 W typical). A USB-C (5V/2A) option is available for setup.
